Kyampisi Backpackers Home is a Ugandan host-family themed guests-home and is a perfect choice for travelers looking for a family-like environment to stay in Uganda.

Located in Kalagi Town, Mukono District, Kyampisi Backpackers Home primarily host volunteers, but other travelers are also very welcome to stay. The location is quiet and there is little traffic or noise at night from outside.

Kyampisi Backpackers Home provides a strong sense of family for international travelers, missionaries and volunteers during their stay in Uganda. Friendships forged here regularly last a lifetime. Furthermore, pre-arrival support is offered by answering your questions about Uganda and by finding a volunteering project that best fits your skills and interests.

At Kyampisi Backpackers Home, we also offer in-country assistance by collecting you from the airport, getting you to your placement, and unraveling some of the more complicated cultural issues you face when entering Uganda for the first time. It is not easy to come to a completely foreign culture on your own. We want to be there for you to give you encouragement, advice and support in order for you to get the most out of your holiday or volunteer placement while you are here.

From the home, we can help arrange trips and expeditions around the country. These include wildlife safaris, hiking, white water rafting, horse-riding, fishing trips, mountain bike tours etc. While our community tours, wildlife safaris and community development volunteer projects provide an authentic, one-of-a-kind cultural experiences, it’s still nice to know that you can retreat to our comfortable living room or rooftop bar to watch English movies, Skype your friends and family and surf the internet in your free time.

A portion of all proceeds from Kyampisi Backpackers Home goes into supporting projects run by our non-for-profit organization - Ssamba Foundation. Visitors and those staying with us are welcome to check on our projects for a day, two or get involved for a longer period.
